Extrufood forming extruders are specifically designed for the extrusion of various viscous masses — licorice, fruit gums, fruit snacks, sugar paste, chewy candy, toffees, and caramels. These twin-screw, co-rotating extruders have a strong, versatile design that adjusts to multiple mass variations.
The intermeshing screws are self-wiping, making them easy to clean. The infeed section can be fitted with a twin-screw, counter-rotating design for a stable, de-aerated infeed — delivering a constant mass flow from the extruder. Depending on the mass, additional infeed types can be designed to order.
The extruder is built onto a single base frame, and all parts that contact the product are made of stainless steel. For multi-colored products, we offer two options: a Diemix® to blend color and flavor into the mass right before the die, or a twin-forming extruder — two extruders on a shared frame feeding into a common die for two-colored products.
